Class starts Monday June 30th

Introduction to Photoshop night class
Starts May 26th, 2008. Monday and Wednesday nights from 6PM - 9PM. Runs for six weeks and 36 hours of instruction total.


Bring your imagination to life with our "NEW" 3D Animation & Video Game Development Design Program. This program is geared towards student(s) who have little or no experience with 3D Animation or Video Game Design.
Spider Man, the Incredibles and Cars are just a few major motion pictures that have utilized digital animation and effects.
Now you to can learn the skills necessary to develop your own movie/game environment, you too can now master Industry tools such as Alias Wavefront Maya with the aid of our talented instructors.

3D Animation & Video Game Design - Summer Camps
80 hours (3D Animation - 40 hours/Video Game Design - 40 hours)
4 hours per session
5 days a week (Mon-Fri) 10:00am - 2:00pm
Prerequisites
: basic computer skills
* Parental consent required for students 19 and younger *

Anthony Manning - Video Game Instructor

Anthony has been working in the New Media Industry as a Multimedia Developer/ Programmer for over seven years. Anthony has also been involved in the teaching industry for five years as a Multimedia Instructor

at local private career colleges in Victoria BC. He has spent the last two years as a contractor growing his Multimedia Development company creating custom applications, CD-ROMs/DVD, Web Graphic/Design, 3D Animation, Adobe Director programming, Flash programming and Animation. He is also the architect and curriculum developer of the 3D Animation and Video Game Design programs.
3D Animation & Video Game DEPT: Administration
Susan Baker brings her unique approach and style to the 3D Animation & Video Game Design Department. With a diploma in PC Support Specialist, including A+ Certification, she has an extensive resume which includes; spending the last 5 years working in the Private Career College industry most notably as an Employment Co-coordinator and a licensed Head Facilitator/ Student Services. 

Susan has also been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug; by recently starting an online resume/ coverletter/ email coaching service. www.cdsvictoria.com

Robert Ives
Robert Ives
 

Robert Ives is a professional artist with over four and a half years teaching experience in 3D animation, and 8 years working in the "industry". He has won awards for his directing/lead

animation of short films, worked on FX for television plus a feature film and designed more commercial graphics than he cares to remember. As an artist Robert has exhibited his paintings in Paris, Berlin and across Canada, taught life drawing, and been commissioned for various stone and sculptural works across Vancouver Island. "I teach through inspiration and am constantly amazed with the results."
Milton Samis

Growing up Milton Samis found a love for art and spent many years developing his talents as an illustrator and painter and later a skilled computer animator. For

the last 10 years Milton Samis has een teaching the 3D animation at CMIT. As a skilled communicator and gifted 2D and 3D animator he taught 3D Studio Max and Maya.
During his tenure at CMIT Milton developed his skill set to include the following software tools including Flash, Director, Lightwave, Max Scripting, Photoshop, and After Effects. Milton has develop course outlines and lesson plans to be in accordance with PCTIA (The Private Career Training Institutions Agency) standards. Milton currently run an online affiliated advertising business (Bannermadness.com) which was launched in early 2006.
Introduction to 3D Animation Overview

This introductory program focuses on teaching concepts for 3D animation, character modeling, character texturing, character animation/rigging, and animating to introduce a simple character or articles to an interactive/game environment using current industry design software programs: Alias Wavefront Maya and Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Premiere, Adobe After FX and Sony SoundForge.

Introduction to Video Game Design

This introductory program focuses on teaching concepts for Game Design, game-play ideals, collision detection, terrain following, camera control, characters, particle fx and sound controls,Havok physics, motion and texture techniques (simulate game) while working in a team environment . Students will gain an understanding of game design as it applies to character development using Adobe Directors game engines and programming language lingo and javascript.
