Develop an impressive interactive and print based portfolio to start your new career. Work on highly diversified and challenging projects, where you'll use your creativity to reach an ever widening audience, with print advertising, product packaging and web development companies.

Program Overview
Two years or six semesters in length, the Graphic Media Design program focuses on teaching design concepts, illustration, typography, copywriting and creative problem solving. Photography, image manipulation and classic manual illustration techniques are applied to projects using current industry design software programs: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Quark XPress, Macromedia Director, Flash, and Adobe GoLive.

Students complete a wide variety of projects throughout the program, including advertising for print media, posters, corporate identity, package design, and self-promotion. They continue to explore the language of design in the context of multi-media development with the use of current software programs. Upon graduation students develop an impressive interactive and print based portfolio to start their new careers.

Eligible students will be offered summer internships with media or print publication companies.

Occupational Opportunities
Graphic designers find work using their multi-media and design skills in T.V. commercial production, with media companies who create on-line advertising and interactive technologies for their clients. They work in marketing and advertising and related production fields and are employed by newspapers, magazines and with label and product packaging companies. They may freelance, working with businesses on logo design, letterhead, and corporate reports.
